Siding Installation

New siding, professionally installed.

Insulated vinyl or LP SmartSide engineered wood. Nova installs both material families across NH and Southern Maine with full tear-off, house wrap, proper flashing, and a finished exterior that protects your home and improves the way it looks.

When to replace your siding

Siding is the primary defensive barrier protecting your interior wall framing from bulk water intrusion, insect damage, and thermal loss. If you are still scraping peeling paint off wood clapboard every summer, you are fighting a losing battle against New England UV exposure and coastal wind-chill.

Consider a complete siding replacement if you notice:

  • Warping or bubbling panels — indicates trapped moisture behind the wall assembly that may already be rotting the sheathing underneath.
  • Faded or chalky color — indicates severe UV breakdown. The molecular structure of the siding has failed and it has lost its impact resistance.
  • Drafty walls and high heating bills — lack of a modern, continuous insulated wrap allows heat to escape through the "thermal bridge" of your wall studs.
  • Peeling paint on wood clapboard — common on older New England homes. Re-siding with vinyl or LP SmartSide ends the painting cycle entirely (vinyl) or extends it dramatically (LP).

What's included in every Nova siding install

  • Full tear-off and sheathing inspection — we don't side over rot.
  • Continuous house wrap — moisture barrier with proper flashing at windows, doors, and penetrations.
  • Optional rigid foam insulation board — adds R-value and stops thermal bridging.
  • Architectural trim package — PVC lineals around windows and doors, color-matched fascia and frieze.
  • Daily clean-up + final magnet sweep — we treat your property like ours.

Siding FAQ

What is the difference between vinyl siding and LP SmartSide?

Vinyl is a PVC-based system known for low maintenance, color stability, and lower cost. LP SmartSide is engineered wood, pre-primed for paint, offering a deeper grain look, higher impact resistance, and a more traditional New England aesthetic.

Do you rip off the old siding?

Yes. Nova's standard protocol is a complete tear-off so we can inspect the sheathing, address moisture damage, install a continuous house wrap, and properly flash all windows and penetrations before the new siding goes on.

How long does siding last in New England?

Properly installed insulated vinyl typically lasts 30 to 40+ years. LP SmartSide is engineered for similar lifespans with periodic repainting. Both are built for freeze-thaw cycles and coastal wind exposure.

How much does siding installation cost in NH or ME?

Final cost depends on the material you choose (vinyl or LP SmartSide), home size, number of stories, existing siding removal, house wrap and insulation, and trim package. The fastest way to a real number is our instant estimator or a free consultation.

Can you update the window and door trim?

Yes. Most Nova siding projects include an architectural trim package: thicker PVC lineals around windows and doors, fascia and frieze upgrades, and color-matched accents.
